Light on Yoga - B.K.S. Iyengar
If you're looking to deepen your understanding about postures, "Light on Yoga," and "Yoga the Iyengar Way" are two books I highly recommend. While there are many variations of poses and how to achieve them (Ashtanga, Kundalini, or Chair Yoga, for example), both of these reads approach the asanas from a classical standpoint taught by Krishnamacharya, and focus mainly on correct alignment. "Light on Yoga" by B.K.S. Iyengar contains over 200 postures, bandhas, and breathwork techniques, as well as philosophy and history of yoga. "Yoga the Iyengar Way" by Silva, Mira & Shyam Mehta provides deep insight into how to achieve the poses, including use of props and ways to make the poses more accessible for practicioners from beginners to advanced. Both are excellent resources for home practices as they include sequences (courses), and suggested poses for different ailments.
